Doi Luang District

Amphoe Doi Luang ( Thai: อำเภอ ดอย หลวง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north of the province of Chiang Rai. The Chiang Rai province is located in the extreme north of the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

History

Doi Luang was founded as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) on 15 July 1996, consisting of Tambon, which were cleaved from the Mae Chan district. The Thai government decided on 15 May 2007 that all 81 sub-districts receive the full Amphoe status. This decision was officially on 24 August 2007 with the publication in the Royal Gazette.

Management

The circle is divided into three subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 31 villages ( Muban ).

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
