Edin BavÄić
Edin Bavčić ( born June 5, 1984 in Foca, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina) is a Bosnian basketball player. Bavčić was selected in the NBA Draft 2006. After he failed the jump in the most highly doped U.S. professional league NBA, he moved to Turkey in 2008 and in January 2009 the Cologne 99ers in the German Basketball Bundesliga. After the license return of the Cologne club he played in the episode in Slovenia, Italy, Ukraine, Greece and France.
Career
Bavčić played from 2003 in the first team squad of the most traditional Bosnian basketball club KK Bosna Sarajevo. In 2005 they won the Bosnian Double and defended the Bosnian Cup 2006. In the NBA Draft he was selected in 2006 as a total 56 players from the Toronto Raptors, who passed on the rights to him to the Philadelphia 76ers. Bavčić initially remained at KK Bosna and could not in the following summers recommend for a place in the squad of the 76ers season. In the 2007 /08 season they played in the ULEB Cup and lost in a memorable also for Bavčić group match at Alba Berlin in a dramatic way in five extensions with 127:141. After a success with fifteen points in the return you could qualify for the next round, where they eliminated against the Spanish side CB Gran Canaria. In the Bosnian championship you could successfully take revenge for the final defeat against HKK Široki Brijeg in 2007 and the title again bring in the Bosnian capital.
After 2008 in the NBA Summer League again failed to be included in the season cadres of 76ers, Bavčić went for the season 2008/ 09 in Antalya in Turkey and played in the Türkiye Basketbol Ligi for Kepez Belediyesi who is trained by his compatriot Sabit Hadzic were. In the season 2012/13 Bavčić signed a contract with the former national champion, European champion CSP Élite from Limoges in the French LNB Pro A. After a few games Bavčić was end of November 2012 released from his contract, after which he again KAO Dramas in Greek League joined.
