FIL World Luge Natural Track Championships 1980

The second FIL Natural Track Luge World Cup took place from 29 January-3 February 1980 in Moos in eggs pass in South Tyrol ( Italy).

Single Seater Men

In single-seater the gentlemen went - as with the ladies - all the medals to the host country, Italy. World Champion was Erich Graber, who won bronze in the previous year. Won silver like last year Damiano Lugon and won bronze Otto Bachmann. The defending champion Werner Prantl from Austria did not reach the target.

Single Seater Ladies

As in the men's all Medals also went to the ladies to Italy. The world champion last year, Delia Vaudan could defend their title successfully. The silver medal won Christa Fontana, for it was the only world championship medal, but which in 1979 was already second in the European Championship. The bronze medal like last year Roswitha Fischer.

Two-seater

In doubles, the Italians Oswald Pörnbacher and Raimund Pigneter won their fellow countrymen Martin Jud and Harald Steinhauser. The only medal at the World Championship of Austria won the third place Werner Mücke and Helmut Hutter, who were runners-up last year.
