FIL World Luge Natural Track Championships 1992

The 8th FIL Natural Track Luge World Cup took place between February 2, 1992 in Bad Goisern, Austria from January 29.

Single Seater Men

For the third consecutive year, the Austrian Gerhard Pilz became world champion in single-seaters. The silver medal won Willi Danklmaier, also from Austria, who won the bronze medal in 1984. Third was the reigning European champion Franz Obrist of Italy.

Single Seater Ladies

Through the Russian Lyubov Panjutina went for the first time a world champion title in tobogganing to Italy or Austria. Panjutina had won the bronze medal two years ago. The second-placed Elvira woodcutter from Austria won her first medal at major events. The third-placed Irene Koch, also of Austria, had previously been awarded several medals at World and European Championships. The defending champion Jeanette Koppensteiner was fifth.

Two-seater

The Italians Almir Betemps and Corrado Herin were for the second time after 1986 world champion in doubles. For the second placed Roland Wolf and Stefan Koegler it was the only medal at the championships. Also his only medal at championships won Michal Bischofer while his doubles partner Herbert Kögl later with Reinhard Beer enjoyed great success.
