FIL World Luge Natural Track Championships 1994

The 9th FIL Natural Track Luge World Cup took place from 27 to 30 January 1994 Gsies in South Tyrol ( Italy).

Single Seater Men

For the fourth consecutive year, the Austrian Gerhard Pilz became world champion in the men's single-seater. Behind him follow with Franz Erhard miller's man Obrist and two Italians. Obrist had already won the bronze medal at the last World Cup, for miller's man, it was the only medal at a World Cup.

Single Seater Ladies

The Italian Beatrix miller's man was world champion in the women's single-seaters before the reigning European champion Irene Zechner from Austria, who came to the medals already at the last two World Championships. Third place went to Italian Doris Haselrieder, which thus won their only World Championship medal. She was European Champion in 1991. The defending champion Lyubov Panjutina from Russia was eighth.

Two-seater

As with all world championships before, was also in this year's World Championship title in doubles in Italy. For the second time just Italians were on the podium. The gold medal won Manfred graves and Günther Steinhauser, Silver went to Jürgen Pezzi and Christian Hafner and bronze at Roland Niedermair and Hubertsburg. With the exception of Steinhauser, who won in 1986 along with Arnold Lunger the bronze medal, it was the first medal at a World Cup for all. In European Championships every six medals already had won.
