FIL World Luge Natural Track Championships 2007
The 16th FIL Natural Track Luge World Cup was held to 19 February 2007 at the Canadian Grande Prairie 15. She was the first and to date only World Cup outside of Europe.
Single Seater Men
Date: February 18 ( first championship round ) and 19th February 2007 ( 2nd and 3rd scoring run )
After the Austrian Gernot Schwab had already become European champions in the previous year, he won this year for the first time the world title. With best times in the second and third scoring round he won with more than a second ahead of his compatriot Gerhard Pilz, who was in the lead after the first run. For the five -time world champion and two-time European champion mushroom this race meant the end of his three -decade career. The bronze medal was won by Italian Pigneter Patrick, who had also become 2006 Third in the men's singles already in the 2005 World Championship and the European Championship. The title defender Anton Blasbichler occupied twelfth place.
Single Seater Ladies
Date: February 18 (1st and 2nd championship round ) and 19th February 2007 ( 3 championship round )
The Russian Ekaterina Lawrentjewa won with Laufbestzeiten in all three scoring passes its second world title in a row and third overall. Silver went to her teammate Julia Wetlowa, which thus won their only medal at major events. Bronze brought the Austrian Melanie Batkowski, which was two days earlier become world champion with the team.
Two-seater

The Russians Pavel and Ivan Lazarev Porschnew could with personal bests in both scoring runs their world titles from 2005 to successfully defend. Their fellow countrymen Alexander Yegorov and Pyotr Popov brought with second place after they were located in the first round in third place, their first medal at major events. The bronze medal won by the Austrian Christian treasure and Gerhard Muhlbacher that were located after passing one despite fall short before the finish in second place. For them it was for gold in the team competition, the second medal at this World Cup.

With the most points and the best total time the team Austria won the team competition I. In the ranks two and three teams Italy I and II follow Austria Team Russia I was disqualified because the rails on Ivan Lasarews toboggan had too high a temperature.
