Flatschach is a municipality with 194 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district court district Mur and Jews Castle in Styria. The municipality is located on the Red Bull Ring.

Geography

Geographical Location

The community Flatschach lies just north of Zeltweg in Aichfeld and runs along the creek on the Flatschacher Flatschacher height (1363 m). The lowest point is in Aichfeld with 669 m.

The community consists of a single homonymous cadastral district and village.

Incorporations

As part of the Styrian community structure reform the church will be Flatschach fused (at the latest in 2015) with the community Spielberg. In the referendum on June 9, 2013 84.78 % of the Flatschacher rejected the merger of the community Flatschach with the Municipality of Spielberg.

The municipality Flatschach was built in 1849 /50.

Population

The municipality had 2001 180 inhabitants according to the census. 99.4 % of the population possess Austrian citizenship. For the Roman Catholic Church to 92.7 % of the population, 2.8% profess the evangelical church. 5.6 % have no religious confession.

Economy and infrastructure

According to Census of 2001, there are 4 workplaces with 10 or more employees in the community as well as 55 commuters and 7 commuters. There are 16 agricultural and forestry holdings (including 10 in the main acquisition ), which together manage 916 ha ( 1999).

Policy

The council consists of nine members and is since the municipal elections 2010 mandatary of the following parties together:

  • 6 ÖVP
  • 3 SPÖ

The ÖVP provides the mayor with Alois Pichler.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 October 2004. Blazon (Coat of Arms description): "Under a gold shield with a red -bladed main and five acorns ( 1:3:1 ) occupied oak branch in red a golden frog. "
