Folignano

Folignano ( in the local dialect: Fijagnà ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9296 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Ascoli Piceno in the Marche. The community is located about 5.5 kilometers southeast of Ascoli Piceno and directly borders the province of Teramo. Folignano is bounded by the hills of Abruzzo. The Adriatic Sea is located 35 kilometers east. North of the village flows the Tronto.

Traffic

Passing through the municipality, the Strada Statale 81, this leads to the Raccordo Autostradale 11, which connects the expressway Ascoli Piceno with San Benedetto del Tronto Porto d' Ascoli on the Adriatic. With Marino del Tronto Folignano has a breakpoint on the railway line from Ascoli Piceno to San Benedetto del Tronto.
