Fred Couples

Frederick Stephen Couples ( born October 3, 1959 in Seattle, Washington) is an American professional golfer on the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour. Even as a young player he was, because of his long haircuts, nicknamed " Boom Boom Freddy". He is one of the few professionals who play without a glove.

Couples belongs to the select group of major winner since he won the Masters in 1992. In the same year he was for 16 weeks as first American at the top of world rankings.

Throughout his long career he made ​​over and over again to create back problems. Nevertheless, he is still active and successful. So Couples has in April 2006 to reach third place at the Masters and was in October 2009, 2011 and 2013 non playing captain of the victorious U.S. team in the Presidents Cup.

Since 2010 Couples also plays on the Champions Tour and had three wins in the first two months of a very successful debut. In August 2011 he won his first senior major, the Senior Players Championship, and then another year, the Senior British Open Championship.
