Gabriel Poulain

Gabriel Poulain ( born February 14, 1884 in St. Helier, Jersey, † January 9, 1953 in Nice ) was a French cyclist.

The family of Gabriel Poulain had a bicycle and automobile factory in St. Nazaire. Poulain made ​​an apprenticeship as a mechanic before he was established in 1887 as a professional cyclist and also made advertising for the brand Poulain.

In 1905, Poulain Aviator became world champion on the track and finished second in 1906 and 1908 respectively to second place. Otherwise, he started mostly only in France.

Poulain also worked as a pilot and the aircraft industry. In 1910 he was 14th the German exam for pilots. In 1911 he participated in the first flight " Gotha -Weimar -Erfurt- Gotha" part. He also tried his hand as a tinkerer and inventor.
