Germany national youth football team
German junior national teams taking part in the competitions by UEFA and FIFA for youth teams. Medium and long term players should be found and promoted to the senior team. Because it is expected that the newcomers age is a significant factor in the skill level of a player it is introduced for the individual competitions and teams an age limit to guarantee a comparable skill level. To identify the teams a U ( = lower ) is prepended to the maximum age of the players each.

History
The first junior national team in the area of DFB was the A- juniors - selection (U - 18) in Liège on 31 March 1953 - on the occasion of a conference organized by the FIFA tournament - had its premiere in the 3-2 victory over Argentina.

In 1956 he had the student team (U 15), which initially fought out only matches against the selection of England. From 1975 Youth Internationals separately for the A- Youth ( U 18 ) and B - Youth ( U 16 ) were discharged.
