Golden Gate is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Collier County in the U.S. state of Florida with 23 961 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

At Golden Gate Interstate 75 passes. The CDP is about 7 km east of Naples.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 23 961 inhabitants distributed to 8,217 households. The population density was 2,282 inh. / Km ². 66.0 % of the population were white, 16.2% African American, 0.7 % Native American and 0.7 % Asian Americans. 12.5 % were members of other ethnic groups and 3.9% in different ethnic groups. 58.5 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 17.2 % of all households lived in 50.1 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 77.2 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 3.38 persons and the average family size is 3.61 people.

32.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 33.2% were 20-39 years old, 25.0 % were 40-59 years old and 9.4 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 30 years. 52.4 % of the population were male and 47.6 % female.

The average annual income was $ 39,733, while 26.1 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 58.49 % of the population spoke Spanish 34.52 % and 6.99 % had a different mother tongue.
