Lely is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Collier County in the U.S. state of Florida with 3,451 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Lely is affected by the Tamiami Trail ( U.S. 41, SR 90) and is located 3 km southeast of Naples.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 3,451 inhabitants distributed to 2,651 households. The population density was 1,015 inh. / Km ². 92.9 % of the population were white, 3.6% African American, 0.2% Native American and 1.1% Asian Americans. 1.5% were members of other ethnic groups and 0.7 % of various ethnicities. 6.0% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 60.0 % of all households lived in 10.9 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 53.4 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 1.85 persons and the average family size is 2.44 people.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 94.06 % of the population spoke Spanish 5.13% and 0.81 % spoke Italian.
