Pelican Bay is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Collier County in the U.S. state of Florida with 6,346 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Pelican Bay is adjacent to the north of Naples, and lies on the Gulf of Mexico. The CDP is affected by the Tamiami Trail ( U.S. 41 ).

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 6,346 inhabitants distributed to 6,483 households. The population density was 755.5 inh. / Km ². 98.8 % of the population were whites, 0.1 % African-American, 0.0% Native American and 0.8 % Asian Americans. 0.1 % were members of other ethnic groups and 0.2 % of various ethnicities. 1.0% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 80.7 % of all households lived in 2.4% of all households with persons at least 65 years. 67.3 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 1.76 persons and the average family size is 2.09 people.
