Gorgonzola, Milan

Gorgonzola is an Italian commune in the province of Milan, Lombardy region. The site has an area of ​​10.69 km ² and 19,540 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012).

The inhabitants are of the opinion that their community was named for the cheese gorgonzola, but this is disputed by the other communities with gorgonzola cheese.

Gorgonzola has been twinned with the French town of Ambert, where the Fourme d' Ambert blue cheese is made, and the Palatine city Annweiler am Trifels.
