Paullo

Paullo is a town with 11,153 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the Province of Milan, Lombardy region. The name of the village comes from the Latin palus (bottom ). The area was first designated in 1140 as Paullum. In the local dialect the name is pronounced as Paü.

On 2 April 2009 Paullo was awarded by a decree of the President of the Republic of Italy, the status of a city.

In the immediate vicinity of Paullo are the villages Mulazzano (LO ), Mediglia, Tribiano, Merlino (LO ), Zelo Buon Persico and SETTALA (LO ).
