Abbiategrasso

Abbiategrasso is a town with 31 325 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Milan. The place is located in the Parco del Ticino, which includes a large part of its territory.

The city is a member of Cittaslow, a company incorporated in Italy in 1999 motion to decelerate and increase the quality of life in cities by environmental policy, infrastructure policy, urban quality, appreciation of indigenous products, hospitality, awareness and scenic quality.

History

Previously, livestock and rice cultivation was operated in the area. 1167 Abbiategrasso of Emperor Frederick I. was conquered. Matteo I. Visconti suggested here 1313, the Guelphs and Giovanni de ' Medici in 1524 by the French. From 1859 to 1927 there was the circle Abbiategrasso.
