Goya Awards

The Goya (named after Francisco de Goya ) is a Spanish film award. It is awarded by the Spanish Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas ( Academy of Arts and Sciences cinematic ). The award is a bronze bust of Francisco de Goya.

History and Description

The Academy was founded on 8 January 1986 as a private institution and awards since 1987 at the beginning of each year the prices. The focus is on the promotion and award of the Spanish film production last year.

Currently, prizes are awarded in 28 categories, as well as an Honorary Goya. In addition to the usual categories such as directing, production, acting, script, cinematography, etc., is overlooking South America also named the best foreign film in Spanish language as well as the best European production. Since 2000, four nominees compete for the award in a category, before there were three.

The last award ceremony was held on 17 February 2013.
