Grenada national football team
The Grenada national football team is the national team of the Caribbean island nation of Grenada. Grenada is a member of the world football governing body FIFA and the Regional Association of CONCACAF and therefore takes part in qualifying matches to soccer World Cup and the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The team carries because of the Grenadian spices nicknamed Spice Boyz.
World Cup Qualifiers
As part of the qualification for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa, the team met in the first round of the CONCACAF region to the national team of the United States Virgin Islands. In St. George's, the team won 10-0 in front of 3,000 spectators and moved so that in the second round, where they met Costa Rica. The first leg on 14 June 2008 in St George's ended 2-2 draw. The return match took place on 21 June in San Jose and ended 0:3. Thus, Grenada was excreted.
