History

The Harth -Pöllnitz created on 21 December 1995 by the merger of the previously independent municipalities Harth and Pollnitz. Also Harth- Pöllnitz can look back on History. From the upper reaches of Pöllnitzbaches in the district Niederpöllnitz lying Wasserburg (castle Pollnitz ) only the high square tower and some ruins remain. From 1130 it was mentioned " Albertus de Pullnitz ". The Pullnitz were vassals of the Margrave of Meissen. 1238 Gottschalk of Pollnitz as Wettin dynasty henchman was mentioned. Later were the vassals of the Reeves Pöllnitzer of Weida. In the 15th century the castle came into the possession of the Lords of Planitz. After that, the owners changed often. Meanwhile, the castle tower was plastered. Also in Wetzdorf was located on the site of the former manor of a fortified manor house. The hill of the former manor house is planted with two chestnuts.
