HB Tórshavn, full name Havnar Bóltfelag ( " Havner ball club " ), abbreviated as HB, is the most successful Faroese football club for men.

History

HB was founded in 1904 in the capital Tórshavn. In addition, there are HB Tórshavn Tórshavn B36 still (1936 ), FF Giza ( 1968 to 2009 Nólsoy NIF ), AB Argir (1973 ), Fram Tórshavn (1975) and Undrið FF ( 2006).

The association has about 1,000 members, including 600 active. HB was 22 times champion of the Faroese (so record champions since 12 September 2004) and 26 times cup winners (both since 1955). His biggest success in the UEFA Cup celebrated HB Tórshavn in 1998 compared Vaasa PS (Finland ) 2-0. Biggest defeat at this level was 0:10 against Tromsø IL (Norway ) 1995.

Women's Soccer

The women's team of HB was one of the dominant teams with the introduction of the first Deild. Went the championship game in 1985 with 1:2 against B36 Tórshavn lost, followed the year after the first title. With few exceptions, the team could always keep in the top group, which led to additional titles. Also, the first cup final ever was won 3-1 after extra time against Skala ÍF, 1999, she managed the league and cup double in 2001 succeeded the fifth and so far last Cup victory. HB 2004 moved from the championship back to a total of seven titles and was replaced in 2005 as record champions since 1985 in the existing Faroese Women's League of KÍ Klaksvík.
