Hilkenbrook is a municipality in the northeast of the district Emsland in Lower Saxony. It belongs to the Samtgemeinde Nordhümmling, which has its headquarters in the town of Ester ways.

Geographical Location

Hilkenbrook between Papenburg and Friesoythe at the Ohe and coast channel.

Neighboring communities

Neighboring municipalities are in the north west, the municipality esters ways to the east of the city Friesoythe in the district of Cloppenburg, in the south of the town Rastdorf in Samtgemeinde Werlte and in the west with the municipality Lorup ( Samtgemeinde Werlte ).

History

The community was built in the years 1932-1934. The name Hilkenbrook emerged from the field names Helkens Barg and Brookwissken.
