Homa Bay County

Homa Bay County (until 2010 Homa Bay District ) is a county in the province of Nyanza in Kenya. The capital of the county is Homa Bay. In County 2009 963.794 people lived on 3154.7 km ². 2.7 % of households are connected to the power grid. The county borders on Lake Victoria. The district is the Ruma National Park.

Structure

The Homa Bay County is divided into two Councils and five divisions. There are two electoral wards called Ndhiwa and Rangwe.

Religion

The Homa Bay County is the seat of the Diocese of Homa Bay the Roman Catholic Church. The Diocese of Homa Bay was founded in 1993. Bishop of the diocese since 2003 Philip Anyolo.
