Geographical Location
The community Isenbuttel is on the plateau of the Papenteich at the secret vineyard. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Isenbuttel, which has its administrative headquarters in Isenbuttel.
Community structure
Isenbuttel consists of three parts: the nucleus, Bornsiek and Tankumsee. However, the districts have no official status, such as with Ortsrat or the like, but merely arise from the geographic location. Bornsiek and Tankumsee are as settlements away from the core location. Tankumsee was originally intended solely as a recreational area. Today there are also residences.
History
Isenbuttel was first documented in 1196/97 and is called in later documents in the 14th century Isenbutle. ( Isenbuttel is a so-called by many " constable - villages " that are commonly found in and around the Papenteich around in the region. ) At that time the monastery Isenhagen from landlords rights were awarded to the settlement. The monastery also received the patronage of the church in Isenbuttel. The settlement had been early the character of a cluster of buildings. - IWG: 8.50% ( 12.88% ), 2 seats ( 3 seats )
- FDP: 1.30% (6.68 % ), 0 seats ( 1 seat)
The turnout was 52.1 %.

Most companies within the municipality are in commercial and industrial park Isenbuttel resident, including one company of the Volkswagen Group.
Recreation
North of the village takes you past the Berlin Lehrter railway. In Isenbuttel, about 2 km northeast of the town closed the 222 -acre Naherholungsbebiet Tankumsee lies with the 62 -acre Tankumsee. To the east of the lake runs the Elbe Lateral Canal, which connects the Mittelland Canal with the River Elbe and behind it is the a nature or landscape conservation wetlands of Barnbruchs. The Elbeseitenkanal serves not only the shipping, but can also be used without any contact with the car traffic for bike rides and trips. How to reach via the lock Uelzen and the impressive ship Scharnebeck Lauenburg on the Elbe and can continue from there east or conditions of Hamburg and the North Sea. Also, the village is situated on the Weser - Harz-Heide Cycle Route. Education
In the community Isenbuttel there are two kindergartens. The DRK- kindergarten and the St. Mary's Daycare in the town center. In the academic center at the School Street elementary school Isenbuttel as well as the 5th and 6th year of primary and junior high school are housed. Since 2005, in the same building, there is also the new village library.
