Ján Svorada
Ján Svorada ( born August 28, 1968 in Trenčín ) is a former Czech cyclist.
Svorada won the 1990 Peace Race, which was still being fought as an amateur race. Then he got for the following season a professional contract with Lampre Colnago. His first professional victory he celebrated in 1992 with a stage win in the Tour de Romandie. At the Giro d' Italia 1994, he was the most successful sprinters with three stage wins. A little later he won the classic Tour de France preparation race Midi Libre and secured later in the tour 's first of three stage wins. The following year he won stages at the Giro and Tirreno- Adriatico on. In 1996, he won then at the stage race Etoile de Bessèges and won his first one-day races, the GP de Denain. In the same year he became the first Czech road master, he repeated this success in 1998 and 2005.
In 1997 he moved to the successful Mapei team, where he drove for two years. In the first year he won at three stages of the Tour of Catalonia and the Vuelta a España. In his second year he won, among others, again a stage of the Tour and he won the Belgian GP Rik Van Renne -day Steenbergen. Then he moved back to Italy Lampre- Daikin. In 2000, he was the Clasica de Almeria win, as well as a further stage in the Giro. After 2001 he import his third stage victory in the Tour de France on the Champs- Elysées, it was a little quieter around the endschnellen man. This was followed by stage wins at the Vuelta a Murcia, the Tour of Belgium, the Giro del Trentino and the Tour de Romandie. Since 2005, he runs for the Czech team ED'System - ZVVZ. In the German stage race Tour of Bavaria and Regio Tour, he won stage wins.
After a total of 77 professional won victories of the then 37 -year-old Svorada finished his career by participating in the one-day races Czech Prague - Karlovy Vary and Prague in 2006.
