Jeff Glass

Jeffrey Glass ( born November 19, 1985 in Calgary, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender, who plays for Spartak Moscow HK in the Kontinental Hockey League since May 2013.

Career

Jeff Glass began his career in 2002 at Kootenay Ice in the Western Hockey League. NHL Entry Draft 2004 Ottawa Senators chose him in the third round at the 89th place. After the 2004/ 05 season he was awarded the Del Wilson Trophy as the best goalkeeper in the league and as CHL Goaltender of the Year.

For the season 2005/ 06 he moved to the Binghamton Senators in the American Hockey League, where he played until 2009. In the season 2005/ 06 the Canadians also completed some ECHL games in the jersey of the Charlotte Checkers. As of September 2009 stood at Glass Kazakh club Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League contract before he was obliged by HK Sibir Novosibirsk in August 2012. In Siberia he was both during the main round, and during the play-offs to the statistically best goalkeepers in the KHL, so he moved to the ambitious HK Spartak Moscow after the end of the 2012/13 season.

Internationally

With the Canadian national team Jeff Glass took part in the U20 World Youth Championship in 2005. In a total of five championship inserts the Canadians came up with a catch rate of 92.2 percent, reaching a Gegentorschnitt of 1.40. After the final victory against Russia Glass won the gold medal with Team Canada.
