Jonas Gahr Støre

Jonas Gahr Støre ( born August 25, 1960 in Oslo) is a Norwegian social democratic politician.

He is trained as an officer and political scientist and studied at the Institut d' études politiques de Paris. He then worked as an assistant at Harvard Law School and a researcher at an Oslo Business Institute. In 1989, he worked for the former prime minister Gro Harlem Brundtland as a consultant. In 2000 he was State Secretary in the office of Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg. From 2003 to 2005 he was Secretary General of the Norwegian Red Cross. From 2005 to 2012, he was Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, on 21 September 2012, he moved to the Ministry of Health. Since the defeat of the center-left parties in 2013, he works as back-bencher in the Finance Committee of the Storting.

He is married and has three children.
