Josh Holden

Josh Holden ( born January 18, 1978 in Calgary, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is under contract with EV train in the Swiss National League A since 2008. Previously, Holden played a few games for the Vancouver Canucks, Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League.

Career

Josh Holden played as a junior from 1994 to 1998 for the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League. In the 1995/96 season he scored 112 points in the regular season and was within the Western Hockey League 's sixth- best scorer. In the next two years he failed just under the 100 -point mark to hit 98 or 99 points. In the season 1998/99 Holden had his first missions for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League, who had chosen him already in the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 in the first round in twelfth position. Three years he was with the Vancouver Canucks a supplementary player before the Carolina Hurricanes in 2001 obliged him from the waiver. After eight games, he was arrested again by the Vancouver Canucks under contract. Before the season 2002/ 03 he came for Jeff Farkas to the Toronto Maple Leafs. But even there succeeded Holden not to prevail as a regular player. For the lockout season of Canadians moved first to Europe and went to the Finnish Club Hämeenlinnan Pallokerho, where he quickly assumed a leadership role. After a year in Finland signed him the Swiss club Fribourg- Gottéron. After two years in Fribourg followed another station as the SCL Tigers before 2008 Holden moved to EV train. There he was in season 2009/10 the NLA player with the most goals scored (30 ) in qualifying.

Internationally

Holden took part in the Junior World Cup in 1998 for Canada. As best scorer of Canadians, he scored four goals in seven games, but the team Canada only reached a disappointing eighth place at the Junior World Cup.
