Andrew Hutchinson

Andrew Hutchinson ( born March 24, 1980 in Evanston, Illinois ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is under contract with EV train in the National League A since July 2013.

Career

The 1.88 m tall defender played first in the junior program of the U.S. Ice Hockey Federation USA Hockey in different tiefklassigeren leagues. His college days spent in the right shooter team of Michigan State University, for which he was in the play mode of the National Collegiate Athletic Association on the ice. NHL Entry Draft 1999, the defender was eventually selected as 54 in the second round of the Nashville Predators.

However, Hutchinson was first used by the Predators only the farm team Milwaukee Admirals in the American Hockey League. Only in the season 2003/ 04 completed the defender first games in the NHL, due to the lockout of the NHL season 2004 /05 had to Hutchinson, however, back in the AHL return. After the forced break of the League of American was transferred to the Carolina Hurricanes. With the franchise from Raleigh Andrew Hutchinson won the 2006 Stanley Cup and finally changed in July 2007 in a swap deal with Joe Barnes and a third-round draft pick to the New York Rangers. This put the defender however, only as a captain of their cooperation partner, the Hartford Wolf Pack in the AHL. There, he scored the most points scorer as a defender and also "First Team AHL All-Star " of the 2007/08 season was the chosen. In addition, Hutchinson won the Eddie Shore Award as the best defender of the AHL.

After this successful season of American signed in the summer of 2008 a two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, but the first also mainly put it in the American Hockey League. November 30, 2008 Andrew Hutchinson was transferred Tukonen to the Dallas Stars in exchange for the Finnish youth players Lauri. In July 2010 he moved to the Pittsburgh Penguins, which mainly put him in the farm team for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. End of June 2011, he signed a contract with Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League.

Mid- July 2013 Hutchinson signed a one year contract with the EV train from the National League A.
