History

Kastl belonged to Rentamt Amberg and the district court Waldeck of the Electorate of Bavaria.

A historical highlight of this place was the battle won against the French troops on August 26, 1796. Coat of arms

Clubs

The largest sports club in the municipality is the TSV 1960 Kastl with the divisions football, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, skiing, hiking, and with several groups of gymnasts.
