Kham Khuean Kaeo District

Amphoe Kham Khuean Kaeo ( in Thai อำเภอ คำเขื่อนแก้ว ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Yasothon. The Yasothon Province is located in the eastern part of northeast Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Amphoe Kham Khuean Kaeo borders the following districts ( from north-west clockwise ) to the Amphoe Mueang Yasothon and Pa Tio in the province of Yasothon, at Amphoe Hua Taphan the province Amnat Charoen, at Amphoe Khueang Nai Ubon Ratchathani province, in Amphoe Maha Chana Chai again in Yasothon, Amphoe Phanom Phrai as well as the province of Roi Et

History

From 1917 to 1953, the district was named after the Lumphuk Tambon, where the administration building is. On November 4, 1953, the name was changed back to the original name Kham Khuean Kaeo. As an independent Yasothon Province, was Kham Khuean Kaeo was one of the districts that were assigned to the new province.

Management

Amphoe Kham Khuean Kaeo is divided into 13 communes ( tambon), which in turn in 115 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Kham Khuean Kaeo ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล คำเขื่อนแก้ว ), consisting of parts of the tambon Lumphuk.

There are also 13 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
