Geographical location

King home is located on a wave height of the Great Heuberg in the southwest of the Swabian Alb.

Neighboring communities

Königheim borders, clockwise starting in the north, to Egesheim, Bärenthal, Renquishausen, Böttingen and Bubsheim.

History

Königheim was mentioned in the year 777 was first documented as Kunigshaim. In the 13th century the village was owned by the monastery Beuron and came to the county Zollern. From then on, the town shared the fate of Böttingen and changed hands up to the beginning of the 19th century several times.

Ecclesiastically the village belonged to the parish Egesheim, in the 14th century Königheim got her own stone church, which was replaced by the present building in 1837.
