Kyškovice

Kyskovice ( German Kischkowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located about four kilometers northeast of the city center from Roudnice on the Elbe and belongs to Okres Litoměřice.

Geography

The village is located on rechtselbisch undercut slope above the Elbe loop from Roudnice. North-east rises the 278 m high cone of Sovice.

Neighboring towns are Vetla in the north, Brzánky in the northeast, Kozlovice in the east, in the southeast Předonín, Obora, Dobříň and Bezděkov in the south, Roudnice, Vědomice and Zavadilka the southwest, Černěves in the west and Chodouny in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Kyskovice was 1253rd In the local situation was once the stronghold Kyškov. The village, including the associated settlement Hamráček always belonged to the reign Raudnitz to their owners after the diocese of Prague, among others Puta from Schwihau belonged. 1577 the rule was sold to William of Rosenberg. About his widow Polyxena of Lobkowicz reached the place where the Lobkowicz, who remained its owners until the replacement of patrimonial regimes in 1848. In the former smithy settlement Hamráček there used to be a horse cemetery.

In Hamráček the history writer Miloš Václav Kratochvil stayed several times to recovery stays.
