La Planée

La Planée is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

La Planée is located on 952 m above sea level, about nine kilometers southwest of the town of Pontarlier (air line). The village is located in the Jura, in the Haut- Doubs, in a longitudinal depression, which is separated by a ridge from the eastern Lac de Saint-Point, at the southern foot of the Montagne du Laveron.

The area of ​​13.00 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the French Jura. The southern part of the area occupied by the approximately two -mile-wide longitudinal recess of Malpas, which is on average 920 m and is oriented southwest-northeast direction according to the strike of the Jura Mountains in the region. In geological- tectonic respects it forms a syncline. The area is drained by a short side creek to the northeast along the Doubs, while the southwestern part is in the catchment area of ​​the Drugeon. To the northwest, the municipality's area extends over a gently rising slope of the adjacent, predominantly forested broad ridge of the anticline of the Montagne du Laveron. This is achieved on the top of the Bois de Chole with 1112 m the highest peak of La Planée.

Neighboring communities of La Planée are La Riviere Drugeon, Sainte- Colombe and Granges- Narboz in the north, Oye -et -Pallet in the east, Malpas and Vaux- et- Chantegrue in the south and Bouverans in the West.

History

Is first mentioned La Planée in 1246 as part of a conflict between the Lords of Joux and Jean de Chalon. Until 1531 La Planée belonged to the rule of Pontarlier. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France. Since 1999, La Planée is a member of the comprehensive 19 villages municipal association Communauté de communes du Mont d' Or et des Deux Lacs.

Attractions

  • The Village Church of La Planée originally goes back to the 11th century but was extensively rebuilt in the 18th century.

Population

With 244 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) La Planée one of the small communities of the department of Doubs. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1886 322 persons were still counted ), a population growth was recorded since the mid-1970s again.

Economy and infrastructure

La Planée was until well into the 20th century a predominantly coined by agriculture, especially dairy farming and animal husbandry, as well as by the forestry village. In addition, there are today some of the local small business enterprises, including a sawmill. Meanwhile, the village has also changed into a residential community. Many workers are commuters who engage in the larger towns around their work.

The village is located off the major thoroughfares. Local road connections are made with Bull, Vaux- et- Chantegrue, Malpas and Oye- et- Pallet.
