Lauterbach is a municipality in the district of Rottweil, in Baden- Württemberg. The municipality operates since 1884 the predicate climatic health resort.

Geography

Geographical location

Lauterbach is the Middle Black Forest in 540-887 meters altitude in the valley of Lauterbach, a tributary of Schiltach. The Town Hall is located at 568 m. At Lauterbach heard the valley Sulzbach, which between 700 and 900 m above sea level lies. Sulzbach was never a separate municipality, but is just a collection of different living spaces, eg the red water and the Bruckhof. The municipality is bordered to the north by the town of Schiltach ( district Lehengericht ) and to the city of Wolfach ( district Kirnbach ) in Ortenaukreis, on the east by the district town Schramberg; to the south by the district Schramberger Tennenbronn, which belongs to Schramberg since 2006. In the West Lauterbach adjacent to the town of Hornberg ( Reichenbach district ) also in Ortenaukreis, from which it is separated by the Mooswaldkopf. A short strip of the part of the city Hornberg, Lauterbach is separated from the Baden commune Gutach in Ortenaukreis. Up to Schramberg until the merger of Baden-Württemberg all neighboring towns of Württemberg Lauterbach were Baden. Until the county town Rottweil is just 33 kilometers until to Villingen -Schwenningen about 30 kilometers, to Freudenstadt about 40 kilometers, approximately 55 km to Freiburg and Offenburg around 55 kilometers.

Land use

The community area is 1995 hectares, of which 1098 ha of forest area (55%), 37 % is used for agriculture, the rest are traffic areas and buildings. History

The first (albeit controversial ) documentary mention Lauterbach was 1101. Lauterbach belonged to the rule Schramberg, and was sold with her 1583 Habsburg. From then on, Lauterbach was 222 years long ( 1583-1805 ) Austrian.

After Napoleon's victory over the Austrian ( and Russian ) Emperor of the Three Emperors Battle of Austerlitz ( December 1805 ), the area fell to Württemberg. It was assigned to the upper office Oberndorf.

Since 1938, Lauterbach belongs to the district of Rottweil. For one and a half centuries Lauterbach was the most westerly tip of Württemberg, surrounded on three sides by Badischer area. Only since the creation of the Federal State of Baden- Württemberg in 1952 is no frontier more here. Due to the administrative reform of 1973, the neighboring municipalities Tennenbronn and Schiltach were added to the district of Rottweil, Rottweil, the entire circle changed from Tübingen Region to Region of Freiburg.

Attempt at annexation to Schramberg

1997/98 was Schramberg and the former majority party in the Lauterbach council UBL the incorporation Lauterbach. For this, a referendum was conducted in Lauterbach on 1 March 1998 in which over 75 % were in favor of the voters for the independence of their community.

Religion

Lauterbach is a largely Roman Catholic village. It was not until the early 20th century Protestants came to the village, a Protestant congregation founded in 1959. This is part of the church district of Sulz am Neckar of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Württemberg.

Coat of arms

The current coat of arms shows two facing away from each dispute scythes (also Breschmesser or Kuse, French Couse called ) in white (silver ) on a blue background. Carnival

In Lauterbach, the carnival is celebrated as throughout the Swabian- Alemannic region. Here, one of the highlights is the witches call that takes place on the " Schmotzigâ ". Economy and infrastructure

Industrial and commercial

With the progress of industrialization in the 19th century, Lauterbach developed from a farming village to the working-class community. Especially in the watch industry in the neighboring town of Schramberg found the Lauterbach work, but also at the site created small and medium sized businesses. Traffic

The nearest motorway is the A81 Stuttgart-Singen, which is about 30 kilometers away on Schramberg and the B 462. About Hornberg and the B 33 is approximately 60 kilometers to the A5 Karlsruhe -Basel (exit: Offenburg ) and about 50 kilometers to the A5 (Exit: Freiburg / North Waldkirch ).

The next stations are Hornberg in the Black Forest Railway, as well as Wolfach and Schiltach in the Ortenau operated by S-Bahn train Kinzig valley.

Pass Fohrenbühl

The community Lauterbach shares with the community Hornberg the pass Fohrenbühl, on to 1805, the border between the Habsburg rule Schramberg and the Württemberg Hornberg - and then the border between the Kingdom of Württemberg and the Grand Duchy of Baden - ran.
