Linet Masai

Linet Masai Chepkwemoi ( born December 5, 1989 in Kapsokwony, Mount Elgon District, Western Province ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner.

Encouraged by the success of her brother Moses Ndiema Masai, who took two gold medals at the African Junior Championships in 2005, she began the same year with a serious running training.

At her first international assignment, the junior race of the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in 2007 in Mombasa, she immediately won gold. At the IAAF World Athletics Final of the same year, she finished fourth in both 5000 and 10,000 meters.

In the Cross Country World Cup 2008 in Edinburgh, she started in the adult race and won the bronze medal ( silver in the team competition ). However, they missed at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing in the 10,000 - meter race despite a personal best of 30:26,50 min in fourth medal scarce.
