List of Bach cantatas

This is a list of cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach. In addition to the great Passions, oratorios and the B-minor Mass include the cantatas to his most important sacred works. Of the approximately 300 cantatas that Bach is said to have composed a whole, around 200 have survived.

The list is sortable by the number of Bach works directory ( BWV ), the title, their determination in the church year, the year and the premiere date, as far as is known. In the other columns the singers and instrumentalists employed by Bach are shown sorted by groups. The Arabic number indicates the number of the respective instruments. Under comment is noted when it comes to anything other than a sacred cantata by JS Bach. This can also be read also from the color coding ( see legend ). Is linked in the penultimate column on the Bach Cantata Page (BCP ), where the full text, structure, and further detailed information can be found. In the last column, a link is provided on the scores of the old Bach Society Complete Edition ( IMSLP ).
