The list of cities in Uzbekistan provides an overview of the development of the population of the larger cities of the Central Asian state of Uzbekistan.

The following table lists the cities with more than 40,000 inhabitants, the results of the Census ( VZ ) of 12 January 1989 as well as a calculation for January 1, 2010 Credited. 's Also the higher-level administrative unit ( province and autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan ) to the the city belongs. The names of the cities are given in the Latin spelling today officially used in Uzbekistan. Unless there is widespread German form of the name, this is in parentheses. The population figures refer to the respective city or town in its political boundaries, without politically independent suburbs.

All cities that have a province or republic immediate status, that is, not belonging to the district, are marked with an *. The capital, Tashkent, has a republic immediate status and includes any province ( assimilated as a city of a province ), but in turn is divided into eleven districts.

All listed sites have city rights ( shahar ) except Xonqa in the province Xorazm holding the status of an urban settlement (or small town, shaharcha ). In addition to the listed cities, there are two other province immediate ( Quvasoy in the province Fargona and Shirin in the province Sirdaryo ), 67 additional district under its cities as well as a city that is subject to another, province immediate city ( Yangiobod to Angren ). In total there are 119 cities in Uzbekistan, including one republic immediate, 26 provincial and 92 district direct or imputed city, also 1065 urban settlements.
