List of Roman nomina

This is a list of Roman gentile names that meet today's family name. They are arranged in alphabetical order and led in its most common form, some with common side forms. To the extent known and unique, the assignment sized ( patricians or plebeians ) of the gene is called; also the time in which the gene is testified ( or inscriptions proved historically ), and the main branches ( Stirpes ) of the family. Not listed here are those Cognomina that marked no continuous branch of the family, but only individuals. Not included in the family names are individual and personal names of the imperial period ( Christian era ), which were chosen mostly according to oriental customs.

The five major families of the Roman Republic (c. 500-30 BC. ) Are marked in bold.
