List of tallest buildings in Toronto

This is a list of the tallest buildings in Toronto, the largest city in Canada. The 298 meter high First Canadian Place is the tallest building in the city and also the highest in Canada. The CN Tower, Toronto's tallest building with 553 meters will not be counted amongst the skyscrapers, as it serves no economic purpose for living and barely usable land has. The tower was but since its construction in 1976, the tallest freestanding structure in the world until it was replaced in September 2007 by the Burj Khalifa.

In downtown Toronto there are over 100 skyscrapers with the minimum height of 100 meters. And in the metropolitan area of Toronto there are over 2000 buildings, which are over 90 meters high. Thus, there is here in New York City is the second most skyscrapers on the North American continent. The first skyscraper was built in 1894 Beard Building, which was demolished in 1929. Currently, the number of skyscrapers is growing steadily. In October 2009, a total of 376 high-rise buildings were in the planning or construction phase.
