Comparability to the German study programs

Dutch and German bachelor's and master's degree programs at colleges and universities are in accordance with the International Standard Classification of Education programs ISCED as, inter alia, the OECD used at their annual international comparative study " Education at a Glance " for Tertiary type A education ( ISCED 5A), ie the academic training. This means that the Bachelor programs of Dutch universities are comparable in quality with German higher education programs in the same field of study and they include also because of the longer duration of the studies of practical experience, which have a positive impact on the employment opportunities.

So far, give the Dutch colleges bachelor's and master's degree with professional designations such as Bachelor of Music. With the next revision of the Higher Education Act, it will be possible for them to give as the universities, the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science or Master of Arts and Master of Science. This had already been suggested by the Expert Commission for a future- resistant university system in April 2010 and accepted the Government in its opinion on 7 February 2011. Even before the introduction of Bachelor 's and Master's degree programs in the European Union dealt with the relevant Central Office for Foreign Education at the Permanent Secretariat of the Standing Conference, the Dutch specialist diplomas as equivalent to the German technical university degrees.

Since the Bachelor-/Master-Struktur the quality of study programs is ensured through mandatory accreditation for a person entrusted with this task by the state organization. The Netherlands was a pioneer in the manufacture of transparency and comparability of quality criteria in Europe. Austrian, Swiss and Norwegian accreditation organizations recognize the accreditations of the Dutch-Flemish NVAO since December 2007 automatically. The fact that Germany is not in the Signatory States in not because of the quality of the Dutch study programs, but to competence problems in Germany. Otherwise, the cooperation with Germany is closely: "Joint Accreditation procesdures were under taken with three German Accreditation organizations": ACQUIN, FIBAA and ASIIN.
