Lyudmila Pakhomova

Lyudmila Alexeyevna Pakhomova (Russian Людмила Алексеевна Пахомова; born December 31, 1946 in Moscow, † May 17, 1986 ibid ) was a Soviet figure skater Russian origin, which started in ice dancing.

Career

Pakhomova began in early childhood with the figure skating and began as a single and then as a pair skater, until they finally came to ice dancing. Your first partner in the ice dancing was Viktor Ryschkin. They trained at CSKA Moscow. Their coach was Stanislav Zhuk. In 1966 she joined the Eistanzpartner and launched henceforth with Alexander Gorshkov. This also they changed the coach. New trainer was Jelena Tschaikowskaja.

1970 married Pakhomova and Gorshkov. In the same year she finished her studies at the Lunacharsky State Institute of Theatre Arts titled ballet mistress.

In 1970, the couple's first time both European and world champion and 1976 they were they the first Olympic champion in ice dancing. From 1970 until her career end they were defeated at the European and World Championships only once. This feat managed the German siblings Angelika Buck and Erich Buck at the European Championships in 1972. Overall, it brought Pakhomova and Gorshkov on six European championship titles (1970, 1971, 1973, 1974, 1975 and 1976 ) and six World Championship titles ( 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974 and 1976), making it the most successful ice dancers in history are at these tournaments. 1977 Ljudmilas and Alexander's daughter Julia Alexandrovna Gorshkova was born. 1978 Pakhomova was trainer.

Lyudmila Pakhomova died 39 -year-old with leukemia in Moscow. In 1988, she was taken along with her husband and Eistanzpartner in the Figure Skating Hall of Fame. In the same year, an asteroid was named after her: ( 3231 ) Mila.
