Maroth

Maroth ( dialect: Moed ) is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of seltzer (Westerwald ).

Geographical location

Maroth is 6 km from Herschbach and 7 km from seltzer (Westerwald ) away on the river of the forest lake below.

History

1344 Maroth was first mentioned. Maroth was two fold. Witness the dichotomy Maroth are still existing today both local Beringe earlier than Malre, Maillrode, Mairot and Moort, and Hausen earlier than Huissen, Isenburgshausen and from Trier, Hausen. There is also the 350 -acre district consists of three parts. Communes of Marienhausen or Dierdorf separate two exclaves on the main district Maroth.
