Schenkelberg

Leg Berg is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of seltzer (Westerwald ).

Geographical location

Leg is located 3 km from Herschbach and 7 km from seltzer (Westerwald ) away. In the immediate vicinity is the Westerwald Lake, a popular holiday and recreation area. The area offers many hiking and cycling paths.

History

Leg mountain was first mentioned in 1219 as a leg mountain and leads to several minor changes since 1624 writing its present name.

The Sacred Heart church dates from 1750.

Parish council

The local council in leg mountain consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman location. The twelve seats in the municipal council are divided into two groups of voters.
