Freirachdorf

Freirachdorf ( dialect: Fraerachdorw ) is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of seltzer (Westerwald ). Freirachdorf is a nationally recognized resort.

Geographical location

Freirachdorf is one kilometer from Herschbach and seven kilometers from seltzer (Westerwald ) away.

The municipality consists of the residential places Birkenhof and needle cautery mill.

History

The first written mention of the village was in 1190, at that time still under the name of free Counts.

Parish council

The local council in Freirachdorf consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
