Matthew Langridge
Matthew Keir " Matt" Langridge ( born May 20, 1983 in Crewe) is a British rower. He won by 2011 two world titles and an Olympic silver medal.
Career
Langridge was 2001 Junior World Champion in One. In 2003, he reached the British quadruple sculls the B-final at the world championships. In 2004 he moved together with Matthew Wells in the double sculls at the World Cup in Poznan, reaching the third place, the two were not at the Olympic Games 2004 in the A-final and placed at the end of the eighth. 2005, the two were back in the quadruple sculls, after three A- Final placings in the World Cup took the boat at the world championships in seventh place.
In 2006, Langridge of the sculling boats for Sweep Rowing and rowing in the British eight that finished fifth at the World Championships. 2007 formed Langridge along with Colin Smith a two coxless, the boat won the World Cup regatta in Linz. In the second World Cup regatta in Amsterdam, the two won the eighth, in Lucerne, she occupied in two eleventh place. At the World Championships in Munich Smith and Langridge won the bronze medal behind the boats from Australia and New Zealand. In 2008, the two Brits changed again in the eighth, with one of the first, second and third place three times reached the podium in the World Cup; at the Olympic Games in Beijing, the British Eighth won the silver medal behind the Canadian boat.
2009 saw Langridge in the coxless four, who won two World Cup regattas and the final at the World Championships with three rowers from the 2008 eighth. In 2010, won two World Cup regattas and the crew took the third race in third place at the World Championships the boat, however, came only fourth place. 2011 reached the quad again two World Cup victories and won the world title in Bled.
