Mezhgorye, Republic of Bashkortostan

Meschgorje (Russian Межгорье ) is a city in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia) with 17,352 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is situated in the Southern Urals near its highest elevation Jamantau, about 200 km southeast of the capital Ufa Republic of the river Maly insertion in the river system of the Kama, west of Belorezk.

Meschgorje is the Republic of subordinated administratively directly and one of the " closed- cities " of Russia. It consists of the 23-kilometer distant settlements (now districts ) tatlý ( Татлы ) and Solnetschny ( Солнечный, formerly Kusjelga / Кузъелга ).

History

Originated about 1979 and initially designated by the code name Ufa -105 or Belorezk -16, was the place in 1995 as Meschgorje (Russian meschdu gorami for between the mountains ) city charter.
