Mohammad Nassiri Seresht ( born October 1, 1945 in Tehran in Persian محمد نصیری سرشت ) is a retired Iranian weightlifter and Olympic champion.

Sporting career

Mohammad Nassiri made ​​in 1964 first attracted attention when he was in Iranian masters. From this point, the Polish coach Clement Roguski, who worked in Iran at that time took care to him. In 1965 he first participated in a World Championship and finished in Tehran 4th place in the Bantamweight (56 kg). A good start to an impressive career that follow and should make it a multiple world champion and Olympic champion. His masterpiece, he delivered it from the Olympic Summer Games 1968 in Mexico City when he was with 10 kg after tearing behind the Hungarian Imre Foldi and this residue caught up with a new world record of 150 kg in the thrusting.

In 1976, Mohammad Nassiri finished his career after winning the bronze medal at the Summer Olympic Games in Montreal.

The Iranian exceptional athlete each won a gold, silver and bronze medal at the Summer Olympics, and five gold, one silver and three bronze medals at the World Championships. At continental level, he once secured silver and four gold medals. Mohammad Nassiri presented during his successful career, a total of 18 world records. In 1995 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the IMF.
