Montreal Rocket

The Rocket de Montréal (English: Montreal Rocket ) was a Canadian ice hockey team from Montreal that played from 1999 to 2003, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

History

The Rocket de Montréal took to season 1999 /00 the game operating in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on. After four seasons in the French-Canadian metropolis, where the team could qualify three times for the playoffs, but the regular season ended only once on a positive note, the team moved to the 2003/04 season in the QMJHL Charlottetown on Prince Edward Iceland to where it until 2013 under the name PEI Rocket played. In the summer of 2013 the team was renamed in Charlottetown Islanders.

The team name was chosen in reference to the legendary Maurice " Rocket" Richard, who had played for many years with the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League. In team logo, still in use by the P.E.I. Rocket is used in a slightly modified form, Richards number 9 is integrated.
