Weary (Aller ) is a situated on the River Aller, on the west side of the district Gifhorn on the border with the district of Celle.

Geographical location

Weary lies on the southern edge of the Lüneburg Heath, about 20 km from Gifhorn, 50 km from Hannover, 30 km from Celle, 35 miles from Brunswick and 40 km from Wolfsburg, on the Aller.

In weary (Aller) the coming of the resin flows into the Oker all. Both rivers are partly very rich in water depending on the season.

History

Weary was in Muthiwide ( created about 815), one of the 17 Saxon Gründungsgaue of the diocese of Hildesheim. The oldest written mention of the village goes back to the year 1022. In the deed of gift of Bishop Bernward of Hildesheim from November 1, 1022 for the monastery of St. Michael in Hildesheim is listed, among other things: "item Mutha in pago Muthiwide " ( " just as tired in the mouth Untergau forest "). Muthiwide, the Latinized form of the Old Saxon word ' Muthiwiddi " ( Muth = mouth ), refers to the name of a Untergaus in Loingau. Districts have been established in the time of Charlemagne to 793 as a regional administrative units.

The St. Peter's Church, one of the oldest churches in the area, was consecrated in the Middle Ages Archdeaconry, the Apostle Peter. It belonged to the " spell" Schmedenstedt at Peine and this in turn to the diocese of Hildesheim. There the Müdener church is mentioned in a document dated July 8, 1295. Pastor Heinrich Hoffmann, who served there from 1646 to 1676, wrote in 1668 in his church book ( the meaning): " And that tired has been a great parish, erhellet from the tithing that the Hohner, Specht horns, Ummerschen, Wilscher, Kästorfer, Gilder, Ettenbüttler, Böckelser still have to give because they have heard before in this parish. Culture and sights

  • Just before the confluence in the Aller the fortification of the Oker is a fish ladder.

  • The murals in the St. Peter's Church with its Gothic choir originated in the period from 1400 to 1480. 1654 followed the timber- growing, in 1767 the church tower. The illustrations in the interior as well as the grave stones date from the 16th and 17th centuries.
  • The Heritage Museum documents the resident crafts as well as the importance of agriculture in the town.
  • The community center of the village is a half-timbered building from the year 1861.
  • The house of the church is a timber-framed building from 1867 and was formerly a school. Today it is used as a youth club and Jugendveranststaltungsraum.
  • The Historical Backhaus is a 1736 built as a cow barn half-timbered building, which was remodeled by incorporation of a historic oven to a cultural venue.
